My plans were to make the 993 Targa my 1st Porsche. I test drove one several years back. My local dealer did have a number of issues with the ones they sold. If you verify the service work on one, maybe you could mitigate the downside of service issues that may occur. I agree, it's a cool car.

I still have interest in a 993 CS. I love the 993 widebody look!

I'd go with the C2s. There's a lot more wheel choices with the widebodies.

BTW I have a c2. Knowing what I know now, I'd go with a C2s. Hope that's helpful.
