Last week my wife and I had dinner at Morton's (Burbank) for our anniversary (9 yrs thank you). Before we left the house I asked if it's valet or self park. It's valet so we took the SUV instead. My wife wasn't very happy (she was ready to ride in the p-car).

I worked valet for a high end resort/hotel this past summer. It was a great job, great benefits, great people and good money.

From my experience I would suggest not to valet your car. My co-workers would race around in the fast cars and take them out for a joyride around the garage. Along with pulling the E-Brake and dipping the front of the car.

Personally, I myself respected the nicer cars and always put them up front, regardless if I was tiped well or not. But most of the time the guys who own the nice cars would tip us pretty well.

They called me this week and told me that the car was officially declared a total loss so I've been looking.

I'm sure it's bittersweet. Another 997 cab or wait for the turbo cab?

Examples like this are why you all need the G.I.A.C. Flashloader with the VALET mode. This will allow you to swith the ECU maps to a scenario with GREATLY reduced power so the only person bi+ch slapping your car is YOU!

Finland is a country of "self service"....

No valets or that kind of problems here!

My buddy at work saw the valet driver at the spectrum back into a pole with a benz, just the other day.

Valet is only great when u see them drive the car to a spot 20 feet in front of u where it is obvious that car won't be moved again. Always look at the last 2 numbers on ur mileage just in case. Give a nice little tip and move along. If this is not the case, never valet especially with younger guys around... sorry for the stereotype but its the truth

Having grown up poor, and not having a cool ride until into my mid-late 20s, I can understand why these kids would take the opportunity to "testdrive" cars they could only dream of. Because of THAT, I don't valet park. I don't let anyone who can't write me a check to replace it get behind the wheel of my pride and joy...

Mike
