I've an annoying rattle/rumble coming from the rear of my tt. I thought first of all it was just a heat shield that was loose/coroded but after checking today there both fine. Has anybody any idea what else to check? Would take it to dealer but its an 8 hour round trip! Its also more noticeable on some rougher roads not sure if its due to less road noise on these surfaces or due to undulations etc causing it to be shaken about more. Makes no difference what revs its at or if clutch is dipped as well. Any help greatly appreciated!

 

I found that the rear edge of my roof liner was the issue...all fixed now. Grabbing the edge/pushing it made the rattle go away.

Mechanic did some magic (not sure what) for no charge.
