For the past few years since I had a new engine installed under warranty at about 10,000 miles the oil pressure gauge has flickered around by about 1 to 2 markings - even at steady rpm.
Today it was doing it again but this time on the dash board the oil can warning light came on.
I'm thinking either my oil pressure dropped to zero or it was just a bigger glitch ?
Either way a little worrying. I checked the oil level and its fine, the engine sounds the same as ever at idle, noisy :-)

Anyone else had this issue -if so how was it fixed ?

I'm thinking it might be a loose connection on the oil pressure sensor ?

I had an erratic oil pressure reading where the gauge would bounce around and drop to zero. When it dropped to zero, the light would go on and when the reading popped back up and the light would go out...it was the sender, which I learned is a common problem. I agree - when the light comes on, it is concerning.

 

if i may ask , what happen and you had ur motor replaced under warranty?
