The SVS Viper went north of 230mph this weekend at the Maxton Mile...on pump gas E70.

Damn thats flying!!

What exactly is E70, how far off from E85 is it? I'm asking this because the octane rating of E85 is high enough that it can be used just like race gas. It just needs bigger injectors, etc.

Hillwood, 230 + ? that is insane.
That is in that Red/white/blue cartoonish looking "airplane car" (Ron Misjack Jr.)?

Yea, it is essentially a race car, but 230 is crazy fast no matter how you look at it.........

Damn, Viper owners.......

Yeah, I wouldn't consider the SVS car a "streetcar"...although it is street legal. 230mph is crazy.

From what Ron Jr.(SVS) told me in Goliad, E70 is a winter blend...30% gasoline I'm assuming vs. E85 with 15% gasoline. In Texas, they're still selling E85 at the pump for 2.31/gallon.

Amazing,
I know with the E85 you have to run 1/3 more fuel thru it than conventional
fuel. I would love to see the fuel system on that thing!!!
Really cool to go that fast, the thing makes serious power!
Is it an AUTOMATIC transmission??

The SVS car is still a T56 transmission. As far as the fuel system, my TT will be tuned for E85 also. Most modern-day fuel systems are already alcohol capable. The key is the size of injector and tuning. When I go from 75lb to 96lb injectors with my turbo upgrade, I'll have 3 tunes with a click of the mouse....93, E85 and C16.

You can also due like what the manufacturers do, run the sensor that determines how much E85 vs gasoline is coming through the lines, and automatically adjust the fuel for it......pretty slick.....(think SVS may have done this on the customer's SRT-10 that they did the E85 setup on)

There is a big difference between a car that can be driven on the road and a "driver". I've seen the inside of Bello's car. It is far from a "driver". Don't get me wrong, i'm sure he was fine driving from NJ to TX, but I bet most wouldn't put up w/ it.

It's like the big 7 & 8 second domestic cars that are "street legal" and are driven to the strip and back.

Question

That list is like a mean battle between Porsche/RUF and Vipers. But it's funny because the RUF was made in 1987. That car was far ahead of its time. 30 years later it's still putting down record speeds.
