My mechanic has a question on installing the AEM AFR gauge.

He did not install it saying something about with my straight pipes he would have to drill a hole in my headers to make it work? How have you guys with the AEM guage installed it?

5 inches outside your turbos right onto your straight pipe. You will be fine I actually have mine 2 inches off the turbo because I have cats and they need to be pre-cat to properly read. Straight pipes you just need them right on the pipe itself which is alot cleaner then putting the gauge on the header.

AEM recommends at least 12" from the turbo outlet. You should see this in the instructions that came with your gauge. I however run mine just a few inches from the outlet and have not had a problem.

Dont know why he would put in the header

That is why he did not install it, because the directions said 12 inches from the turbo?

ttenneb is infamous around these parts
Just make sure the AFR sensor is located downstream/after the turbo.
Do not install the the sensor in the headers before the turbo.
