I'm big on Zaino products. To fully understand what each product does (clay bar, show polish, etc) you can visit their website and they will give you all the information you need.

http://www.zainostore.com

I have found the products to be extremely effective and their customer service is excellent.

Hope this helps.

YMMV... but many feel that Zaino looks flat on darker colored car. I know on my Ocean Blue I preferred a carnuba, though I liked the longer lasting synthetics like Zaino. I currently use a compromise solution... Klasse All in One topped with a carnuba wax like Sovereign or P21s or S100. Take a look at www.autopia.org for a bunch of people that are as fanatical about clean cars as we are about Porsches.

Wash, clay, polish, wax... don't forget the microfiber towels and an Absorber chamois.

I use adams polishes wash n wax soap, then do the clay bar treatment, follow up with butterwax. Stuff works great, no swirling or hazing and easy to buff off.
www.adamspolishes.com

easier to use than zaino bros and made from higher quality ingredients. Their in-house chemist is from USC and knows how to blend all of the stuff together.

Here's my 2 cents on car care:

I use Zymol Clear car wash--not cheap but a little goes a long way.
http://www.zymol.com/clear2.htm

Griot's has a high quality sheepskin wash mit:
http://www.griotsgarage.com/search.jsp?searchtext=10222

I use a chamois from AutoSport to dry the car. Work your way down from the top, and don't rub hard:
http://www.autosportcatalog.com/index.cfm?fa=p&pid=164

I bought a California water blade when I had my last Carrera (seal grey) and like the old saying goes...if it seems too good to be true...it probably is. I was amazed how easily it got the water off the car, and then dismayed by the scratch marks it left. They say they guarantee that the **blade** won't scratch your paint. True--but any--even small--bit of dust or dirt that gets stuck on the blade gets dragged across the paint. Stay away from it.

Every 6 months I use Clay Magic to remove all the gunk that builds up on the surface--it's amazing how smooth the surface is after you use it:
http://www.autopia-carcare.com/awc-88256.html

I've been using One Grand Blitz wax for a year and love it. Easy on and off and lasts a very long time. Used Zymol for 15 years but got tired of the difficult application/removal process and low durability.
http://www.carcareonline.com/detail....oduct_id=10201

For the tires I use 303 Protectant. Keeps the rubber nice and black, with a matte finish, and lasts until the next time you wax the car:
http://www.performanceproducts.com/P...producttype=10

RejeX is great to keep bug splats on the windshield, brake dust on the wheels, and discoloration on the exhaust tips, from building up:
http://www.corrosionx.com/rejex.html

For dusting between washes, I use the California car duster, and the dash duster is great to keep the black interior clean:

That's odd, because IMO Zaino looks best on dark cars. Esp. black. It was the only wax out of about 20 or so i've tried that I liked on my car when it was black.

I"ve started using meguiars new NXT Tech Wax and I love this stuff, I was a die hard zaino guy for a long time and will still continue to use it on my hot rods. But i'm also the kind of guy who likes to wax his car atleast once a month and this new NXT is awesome, the application and removal is by far the easiest i've found of any wax i've ever used. And it lasts longer then anything i've used except Zaino.

I'm a car washing nut, every week I get up and do a full wash of my girls and my car and atleast once a month I head up to my parents and wash/wax their cars.

For car washing products, I go w/ Griots. Their boars hair brush is awesome, I also use their nozzle (the $99), their wheel scrubber and a bunch of little things. Best nozzle i've used, I actually have 2, one I took apart and had polished .

As far as soaps, I always used griots soap, but have now been using the NXT soap and it's just as good.

As far as drying goes, I use the california water blade on all my cars except my acura and hot rod (it gets me nervous sometimes on dark colors). I use the Big Blue Towel that is microfiber from properautocare.com. This is the best thing I have ever bought when it comes to drying cars and i've tried a ton.

I've tried p21s and was not at all happy w/ the results esp. for the price.

also for cheap good quality microfiber towels go to Costco or Walmart. They are cheap and good quality and have passed the CD test w/ no problems from me.

OK, so you know what they say about opinions....

I've used P21S products religiously on my Porsches and I've had nothing but stellar results.

I read all of Larry Reynold's info at carcareonline.com, knew exactly how to wash the car and wax it, and what chemicals to use.

I've tried Zaino, among others, and Griot's best of show, but I always come back to P21S. Ever wonder about the Porsche products? They're P21S...yep, just in different packaging.

But regardless, try small orders of different products and see what works for you.

3M Hand Glaze
P21S Paint Cleaner
P21S Auto Shampoo
P21S Carnauba
P21S Gel Wheel Cleaner
Stoner Invisible Glass
Stoner More Shine Less Time for Tires
Griot's 100% cotton cloths
Griot's Microfiber cloths
(for problems or more aggressive work...):
Griot's Machine Glaze 1, 2, 3
Griot's Best of Show Wax
Porter-Cable Random Orbital Buffer
Griot's Backer Plate and buffer pads

Stay away from Zymol, it is overpriced crap that fades away within a month.

Of all the waxes I have tested Zaino is the best compromise.
