996 Turbo / GT2 Turbo discussion on previous model 2000-2005 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo and 911 GT2.

Thinking of opening a local tuning shop check out this dyno.

Not arguing with accuracy, tuneability, etc..

But people who dyno at a car show want to feel good about the results.
I could get a portable dyno dynamics check out there site

That is the exact opposite of the truth the dynojets are sooooooo varying on numbers from machine to machine and operator based correction factors. They are an inertia based dyno which = your pushing a big drum to get a number, accuracy is a big question with dynoJets as well being that you can litterally move the car from the front of the roller to the back and get a different number. Alot of people talk smack about the DD because its a realistic non inflated number in the end and they are butt hurt by the number. Like i tell people if your looking for number and a number only no real tuning go buy a dynojet.

Anydyno with correction factors being manipulated by the end user can get varying numbers. But..... you can put a dyno dynamics machine in Shootout mode (unchangeable correction factors) dyno all over the country on different machines and they will be withing single digits of each other.

As far as people saying Dyno Jet is the industry standard if they are its because they are dirt cheap and are willing to practically give them away.

In the end if your looking for a dyno thats built like a tank, repeatable, and able to tune on with consistant results then Dyno Dynamics is what you want. Oh ya if someone says they are doing a complete tune on a Dyno Jet or any inertia based dyno they are flat out lying to your face. You can do one type of tune on a Dyno Jet and thats Wide Open Throttle (wot). Which means you have no drive ability and your car is now being street tuned by the tuner which alot of the time leads to tickets and cars being totaled.

Very interesting. You've certainly changed my opinion on dyno's.

From what I've heard, Mustang Dyno's are the best, they are used by several manufacturers. Dynojets are kinda the bang for the buck type deal when it comes to dynos, but they are easily manipulated.

Anyone have anything negative to say about mustang dyno's? I honestly want to know if there is something. Easily dyno AWD TT's.

We looked at all the Dyno's at SEMA. The one's I would consider are:

Dyno Dynamics
Mustang
and even DynoJet

When we talked to DynoJet and said everyone says you don't make a load bearing dyno the rep was very angry. He said yes we do you can add it if you want. He said for tuning yes it is important. For just horsepower pulls he said the inertia type works great.

I have tuned on all 3. DD and Mustange are light year ahead from a steady state load perspective.

Ask S-351 about the accuracy of Dynojets...

What a JOKE!
