* Houston area * I found out I can order Sunoco 260 GT plus (104 octane unleaded) for about $350 a 55 gallon drum (roughly $6/gallon) which is pretty darn cheap compared to the $8 you pay from retailers. The only caveat is the min order is 4 drums, and I only need one. Anyone interested in a drum?

Dumb question from novice. How long can you store race gas? Is it safe to have it in the car's tank during the winter months? (I am in New England). Thank you.

What about mixing up a home brew. F1 cars burn 96% Toulene. I believe MS109 is 70% toulene - hence that crazy smell! I mixed a can of MS109 with 94 pump to net 104 octane. This was nice. After that, I tried a can (quart?) of Torco Unleaded Accelerator in 3/4 tank of 94 octane. Where I sometimes I get a little knock the bottom of 3rd, using 94 and the PUMP file, I had NO knock with the Torco accellerator with 94 octane on the RACE file. I data logged several WOT pulls deep into 5th. Timing remained very aggressive. There was no indication of timing being pulled.

Comments on the Torco, Toulene or perhaps on combining both with pump gas???

MS109 is 103 octane unleaded, I ran it at the Texas Mile.

It is about $10 per gallon and the Porsche turbo cars run really well on it...

60-130 to come!

Oh yeah, as Zippy says, one whiff will knock you on your ***! LOL!

Uhhhh....

VP MOTORSPORT109 Racing Fuel Ref: VP-MS109
MOTORSPORT 109 Produces more power than any other unleaded fuel. Recommended for higher boost applications with CRs up to 11:1 or naturally aspirated engines up to 13:1. Color: Clear.
Motor Octane: 101.
R+M/2: 105.
Research Octane: 109.
Oxygenated: Yes.
Specific Gravity: .722 at 60° F

Actually this means that the "US Octane" is 105.

Either way it's good stuff, although at 70GPB per 5gal drum, I keep my purchases light...

I'm putting some in tomorrow and can't wait - that smell is SO GOOD! MMMMMMMMMMM!

ELF Race Fuel

I have tried a few different fuels in the race car but now exclusively use ELF LMS 104 octane. This stuff is so pure there is absolutely no residue on the inside of the exhaust. The kicker is the price - over here it is $5.75 a litre which I think works out to US$23.50 a gallon!

However, for any higher octane fuel to be effective I understand that the car has to be tuned to that level.

Yup, VP109 by the barrel the only way to go. I have three in the back right now. Well, two and 1/2. I am paying $ 450.00 a barrel delivered. How does that stack up price wise?

That is very cheap we had a price of like $550.00, but we get our GT104 delivered for $330.00.
