ECU plug & play replacable?!

Is there any learn process or theft device in our 996 TT ecu? I got offered a modified ECU and was wondering, if I can just plug it in without problems?

Yes, as far as I know, it is not plug and play. You have to reprogram VIN# etc.

Correct, it has to be coded to your specific car.

Must be programmed to your vin, which is usually 1-2hrs at the dealer. Be very careful becuase if they dont know what they are doing (working with a modified ECU) they can actually flash back to stock.

Correct, you have to have the VIN and embolizer info. Most can not swap those without flashing back to stock.

If you want a programed ECU with your info and a program email me. I can give you some options.

Yes, or you can buy the used ECU and send it to any of several tuners (I used Stephen above ) and they can program it to your vin number for you.
