K24/18g vs GT28 turbo

Hi,

I am currently running stock K16 on my car but I'm planning to upgrade my turbos. The 2 turbos that I am looking at are K24/18g from Protomotive and GT28 from SG.

Does anyone know how they compare in terms of lag and top end power? AFAIK the cost is about the same for the 2.

Thanks.

GT28's are superior technology and water/oil cooled. However Todd has had amazing results w/ the 24/18. The big advantage is if you already have 24's then you save a bunch of money, but that is not the case for you.

If cost is the same go w/ 28's. The should last longer and be a little better up top.

Thanks. For GT28 does it require fuel system upgrade?

They both are better with it. I think it makes a huge difference with the 24/18's.

Call Todd at Promotive. He did some testing on both and the promotive turbos flowed better whereas teh gt28's dropped off at higher rpms

I'm in the same exact situation... currently running stock k16's and thinking about upgradeing turbos... to make a very reliable setup for daily driving what parts are needed to be purchased around the turbos? what parts of the fuel system need upgrading?

My understanding is the Gt28s can be run without the water lines. I may be wrong about that though. If the lines are necessary that is an additional expense you must account for.

Dont forget you must do all the other upgrades too. You cant just slap on bigger turbos and call it a day.

I have the SG700 Set Up. It is awesome!!!! No Lag and the high end is not coming off.

I have the Fuel Kit in the program. Check Signature. If you want teh best go with the SG700.

i honestly don't think its worth it if you allready have k24s to go to the gt28s or k24/18g if you dont do the fuel system.

you must do teh fuel system IMO

Fuel system made a huge difference....I was barely beating stage 4's w/out it...w/ it I walk by 3 or more lengths in a 60-130 pull.
