If you have a stock TB, then it has a 66 mm diameter, if you installed a 996 NA TB, then it has a 73 mm diameter. S Car Go Racing has a 90 mm TB that uses the Porsche drive by wire signals but will not pick up the PSM shutdown commands. What is even better yet is the breathing is far superior.

I believe I know who makes the "custom injectors" you are installing (RJ Engineering). I believe they make them in the 520, 620 and 720 cc size. I believe 420 cc is the stock size. What size are you using?

How did you address the intercoolers?

Xico,

This is the difference in the TB sizing.
Top 90 mm. Botom left 66 mm. Bottom right 73mm.

This is what the 90 mm splitter looks like. The injector nozzle on the bottom is the second stage of the NOS system.

What does the new trottle body provide in terms of performance improvements?

Actually, it is not a new TB. This was added about five months ago. It is not for everyone. You need to be developing some serious power. It makes for a quick response and power from 5800 through 7400. Think of it this way, the 996tt pulls well between 3600 and 5200 rpm's. The larger TB, with other things being adjusted gives you the same feeling between 5000 and red line. My guess is the Garrett turbo's being used on Xico's car are probably good for 800 hp. However, the motor will never get there unless the induced air, intercoolers, compressed side, throttle body, heads, headers and exhaust will also handle the volume. You always have to find the weak link. Xico's turbo's are no longer the weak link.

Then you have to start thinking about the motor. Porsche uses this motor in the stock form at about 480 hp on the latest GT2's. A good rule of thumb is, do exceed the stock power by more than 50% if you don't want to run into serious troubles. That means stay under approx. 720 hp if you don't modify the internals. At 200+ hp per liter, you are definitely in race motor territory.

Very nice Xico! Especially since I have the same engine set up. Are you seeing occasional spikes to 1.5bar as I am? Please let me know how the Motons work out. I'm considering the clubsports kit. Can you tell me what you expect from the new fuel injectors?
