AFR Gauge

Hello everyone,

I am interested in adding an air fuel ratio gauge to my car.

Hopefully some of you can help me decide on which brand and mounting location to use.

Currently I have a VDO boost gauge and like the OEM look to that gauge, I am not stuck on VDO, thats why I am looking for suggestions on what AFR gauges you are using in your cars.

Is there an advantage or disadvantage to a digital readout instead of a sweeping design?

I'm also interested in where most of you mount your gauges.

Thanks for any help.

VDO is far too bland for me. I always use Defi or Autometer.

Gary,

I like the digital because at a glance during a WOT pull, you can plainly see whether you are at 12.5 or 11.9 and it only takes a fraction of a second to know exactly what the gauge is registering. I have not used a sweeping AFR gauge, so it may be just as easy, but based on other sweeping gauges, digital seems easier to decipher at a quick glance.

Hello,I have two AFR gauges, the AEM with external wideband sensor and the Brockway R920 which you connect with the OBD2 port. The R920 has dual AFR readings
I'm verry happy with these 2 gauges but the AEM reacts faster.
The brockway is installed above the temperature settings...

If you can wait until sometime early next year, Brockway is coming out with some new items, one of which will be similar to the R2000 he used to produce (now out of production). It will monitor 4 channels simultaneously and data log them to an SD card. 2 of the channels can be A/F with no modifications necessary and he plans to have an EGT thermocouple ready at that time for EGT. That leaves 1 channel to monitor another stream of data. I plan to monitor ignition timing, but that can easily be changed to something else, if I choose. The output will be in multi-color and I plan to get a small color monitor to inset in place of the CD storage compartment. I forgot to ask him how the alerts will be configured. I want both audible and visible.

He is also going to have a color display guage which will show 3 simultaneous parameters. I don't know its data-logging capabilities nor do I know if it's 52mm or 60mm. I didn't ask many questions about it as that's not the way I plan to go.

You know I think if one of the tuners was to put together a package with the mounting panel and the Brockway or some other gauges.....that I could install easily...they could make a few bucks.....
