That's a serious steal.

Great deal for a '02 GT2

Even if it is "clean", Carfax is not that dependable of a service. Granted there isn't much else but it's really more of a sellers tool since most accidents/repairs will not show up. It will catch titling but most accidents are never reported. Just thought you would like to know.

for 90K, thats a steal. heres my thinking.
10K for interior odds and ends
7-12 for a top notch suspension
35-45k for a Built engine w/ gt30's
and you have a car that will beat 99.99% of cars on the road or track.
AND ITS A GT2

simply awesome
So this will be really simple rather than speculating on condition...
Plug the car in at a local dealership, get the stage 1 and 2 numbers.
Get a leakdown done at the same time.
My guess is that you'll have all of the informatoin you need.
Why speculate until that time?
Remember that the Chicago marketplace is not exactly WARM and SUNNY this time of year so they're clearly looking for a quick turn as well.

Cold weather, crappy stock market, **** dollar/economy, shaky job security and impending tax season. You'll see more of this....a lot more of this!
#37
Well, did anyone buy/inspect this car?
#38
price is right if they want to unload it. or stand firm and look at it for the next 2 yrs.
#39
I kind of wish I'd known about it a week ago when I agreed to buy a local tt. Oh well.

dmundy...I am in Sugarland. You have to come hang w/ the boys...come out to Lonestar Motorsports Park for the 60-130 comp next sat.

So I've always wanted a GT2. Think it's worth trading my 997 TT in for (I'd probably get a winter beater with the extra $ over.)
Any thoughts?

Check the wait list at the local FCar dealer.
I love Gt2's but the 996 version is no longer the new new uber Porsche and the prices will settle. It's a great deal in my opinion but I don't think the economy has forced it there.
