What's the topspeed of your car?

The car's top speed and the speed people have been able to drive are two different things ![Smilie](https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
So anyway I've got 329 km/h on the speedo with stock tires here. With Techart tuning kit...the acceleration became quite slow.
In Germany of course...

I have hit 124MPH on Hwy 133 in Irvine. I believe I was in 4th gear @ 5500 RPM, but do not remember the exact RPM. I kept that seed for five seconds and then ran into the 70 MPH FWY traffic so I hit the brakes.

I obviously have done 191 MPH on GPS in sanctioned event.
I would need 2 miles to safely do 200 mph from a standing start.
TX mile is 1 mile straight with .5 mile shut down. (You should have seen
Eddie Bello try to slow his car down from almost 220 Mph!!![EEK!](https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
)
Most guys in his MPH were using dual chutes !!

My best is 207mph (333kmh) laser verified and the speedo was indicating 211mph. Ruf have achieved 363kmh on the autobahn, that's 226 mph.
here's a picture going through the trap at 207...

Have only reached about 175-180 and that was in a very short stretch I would imagine the way it pulls, its good for a good amount over 200 but who knows, by doing the simple RUF gearing its good for 220+..

Martin,
No disrespect, but you need one hell of a high dollar motor
to do 220 +++ regardless of what fancy gearing you have.
See Your RUF brethren directly above^^^. That car is quite a different league
than most...
Cheers,

P.S. Leon, that is an amazing machine!!! was the 200+ at Brunters?

Let's not forget, the GT2 goes from 0-186 mph back to 0 30+ seconds faster then it takes a 996TT just to get to 186mph, in the GT2 special buyer's guide!
Hey was just quoting what I read, and it wasnt a "high powered" RUF car (650+) by any means! But I agree to some extent it takes a lot up there, lighter weight helps significantly!
Edit: here you go http://www.ruf-automobile.de/ibase/d...ct2004_001.pdf
in Porsche Excellence, 221+ MPH 590 BHP!

Farthest I have carried it is 153 (readout on Performance Box) in 4th gear at 7900. Nitto NT-01's 245 and 315. Not going to take it any further until I go to Mexico, or to the Maxton mile. Actually, someone else was driving that evening. You know who you are!!!
Seemed like it really wanted to go a lot faster. Theoretical top speed is quite high but aerodynamic issues really come into play over 200. Huge amount of extra power required to propel you from 200 to 220+ as many of you know. Run the equations.
I am trying to get a waiver from the East Coast Timing Association (Maxton Mile) for full rollcage and parachute requirements for any vehicle going over 175. I don't think Texas Mile imposes those kinds of restrictions, but for me, Maxton is 4.5hr. pull and TX Mile is about 14.
