I dont know but I do know that I have Yoko's that have cracks in them and I wont be driving with cracks in the tires. I have heard that even slicks are prone to cracking in low temps though.

update

I am on the waiting list now for room and road....wish me luck.. Registrar said no big deal for novices...I'll probably make it....the big guns are more full if you will. I have a room off track reserved, but want to be on track.

My car has a rennlist plate frame....and I'll be in a novice group...find me and say hi. It is a midnight blue 996TT... On street tires with good tread.....I'm a novice and the limits are all between the ears at present.

Advice welcome.

I heard today that CDOC does not rent helmets at VIR....so, does anyone know a place to get an inexpensive helmet....sa2005 of course...opinions welcomed.

I'm so pumped...but its looking like I'm in 930man's car shakedown shoes...don't worry though, my turbo is coming too...god knows high revving orange cars are slow, so Ill have something to revert back to when I want real speed...

Tom, well still follow eachother in turbos...that date must not be lost...haha

I bought this helmet last year and added my HANS Mounts. It's a decent helmet for the money and has done well so far.

It's not bad here, I've just been changing plans to go with the PCA a little more this year. The Road Atlanta event in JAN got snowed out, my family is coming in town this weekend so I cant do CMP, and the weekend after is Roebling .

I may take a nice long road trip to a track somewhere next weekend.

1 year old brake fluid. Novice. Will I overheat it (I almost think a novice will use the brakes more....me....).

My mechanic says the locals use "FORD" brake fluid in preference to the motul and castrol things I see here. PCA/SCCAers....

Anyone have any thoughts. I am open to suggestions and advice.

Thanks in advance.

It will be FAR FAR too cold, and you wont be going fast enough in the novice group (not saying that you arent capable, it's just not possible with all novice drivers on track at the same time) to boil brake fluid.

You'll be perfectly fine, but as you move forward, and get faster, an upgrade will be needed. And unless it's Ford RACING fluid (which I've never heard of) it wont do, you need some good stuff on the TT (Motul, Castrol, AP Racing).

If by a longshot you feel your brake pedal feeling long, just hop on over to CDOC and get some good stuff and we'll help you change it.
