East Coast Trackers...vir Mar 08 Pca Zone 2 Event!!!

Gary,
It was amazing watching you, 930 man, and the Cup car lap ....amazing.
I suspect you do 4 laps to my 3, lets put it that way.... Please let us know about the way you came about the car: start to finish, good things that happened, bad ideas, things to avoid.
My big question to you as a track newbie, how long does it take to get really good at getting "power on smoothly" on a beast like yours....is it just years/seat time or at some point do you have to actively say to yourself at every corner......slow on the gas inside?
Thanks. Tips welcome. No offense at all meant, in any way. My major struggle at my first event (the last VIR event) was modulation of the huge amount of power the car had...mine is about 560hp/560ftlb...probably 2/3 at most of yours.
BTW, amazing video. 1:58 I believe....maybe faster.

Just saw on the youtube comment list that Gary said we were doing 175mph on the back straight. Things were moving so fast and the braking g-force so strong, I barely had a chance to look at the speedometer. I'm guessing 140 up the esses.

My clutch was slipping so sporadically, that I couldn't get anywhere above 125MPH on the uphill esses. I did manage to get a couple of 172-175mph runs up the back straight (by the bottome of the backside of the rise) when the clutch would hold. I'm 110% sure you could take a 650HP TT (like mine or Toms, or Cowboy Callehan's) and crack serious "speeds".

getting out of the hole at oak tree and turn 17 increases the speed down the straights quite a bit...
getting the esses right and through south bend and getting the roller coaster right , DRops the lap times quite a bit.... but that just my opinion

Chin would give us alot more track time and freedom to do "ride alongs" than certainly a PCA event. and NASA is fun for the TT but still pretty limited track time. Even when I race with them minimal track time.
Heavy pick something!!

Not much of a drive from Atlanta.
Also many NASA and PBOC events at Sebring.
Also we would be glad to come to RA anytime.
