Quite a difference Martin. I dynoed on another Mustang last week and made 442WHP and 355WTQ, so go figure. I wouldn't mind dynoing on the same dyno jet you just did to see the difference for ****z and giggles.

We need to do some 60 - 130 Vbox runs soon, we may set up a day to do just that if you're interested.

We need to hit the track as well, as Scott said 1/4 mile traps are one of the best ways to gauge. Maybe Sactown in January?

Next time you go to the dyno....post first and see if anyone wants to meet you there with a stock car.

Getting a stock baseline before testing a modded is always a good idea.

A Mustang dyno typically reads 10% lower than the dynojets. As said before stick with the same dyno and you will see better consistency. The difference you are noting is the result of two different dyno types, amb temps and most likely heat soak. Since you are not tuning the engine I'd suggest sticking to the dynojet (inertia based) as by its nature is more consistent.

We did dyno a stock car that day on the Mustang and it made 338hp if I remember correctly.

We usually see mid 330's for a stock car, on my dyno (Mustang).

Go back to both the dyno's after the mods and let us analyze the results.

That is the game plan. I'll dyno the car on the same day on both dynos after I put the hybrid turbos in. I'll posting up the dyno graphs shortly.

Mustang Dyno - 12/8/07

Here is the dyno sheet from the Mustang dyno done on 12/8/07. There were 3 runs that show the HP and TQ (no AFRs) in 4th gear. You can tell from the graphs that the car pulled timing around 5,000rpm which caused the dip in performance.

DynoJet Dyno - 12/15/07

Here is the dyno sheet from the DynoJet dyno done on 12/15/07. There were 3 runs that show the HP with the AFRs in 4th gear. You can tell from the graphs that the car pulled timing between 90mph and 110mph which caused the dip in performance and low AFRs. Can someone convert the MPH into RMP based upon the OEM 4th gear ratio?

Try making 3rd gear pulls next time you go to the dyno. You need a wind tunnel to replicate airflow in 4th gear. Not having enough air flow could be causing both rich conditions and timing pull due to high intake air temps.

3rd gear testing will be pretty close in the mustang, but expect to see different results on the dyno jet.

A few observations...

Both plots show uncorrected power. The Dyno jet is using no smoothing while the mustang dyno is using 70% smoothing (ALOT, can reduce power figrues). We use 30% which is what mustang recommends.
