Thumbs up

Vivid is not proven (as several other Kits offered by tuners currently), big deal.
This looks like a good kit. I also would love to see Vivid at the drag strip
with the rest of the Scottsdale crew. More of the tuners and customers need to show up at multicar events like the Texas Mile, Maxon Mile and the TX2K8 to practice what they preach. Vivid has a ways to go but is trying harder than
some of the others. I give them credit for that. (Please realize that I have been a Vivid
Customer and have had some heated discussions with Dan, but we were able to resolve them due to his customer service attitude.)

Good luck to them, we all benefit from alternatives.

Interesting accusation . . . do you have any FACTS to back it up. BTW, it is patently obvious which tuner you are referring to, so please enlighten us with facts supporting your claims of dishonesty, false representations, inaccurate performance data and consumer fraud by your “Arizona” competitor.

I read the entire thread and Joe’s question was never answered! Frankly, I think it is outrageous that a tuner is allowed to accuse another tuner, who is a long time forum sponsor, of dishonesty, inaccurate performance data, false representations and consumer fraud, without any supporting facts, and this site allows the post to stand. If I was the accused tuner, I would revoke my sponsorship and ask for my money back.

Nice job ducking Joe’s express question with a disingenuous compliment.

Other than Vivid’s own repetitive and systematic self-promotion, I have heard very little about the quality or performance of their products, so I have no comment about that. My beef is with Vivid’s marketing strategy, which is clearly predicated on disparaging competitors – one in particular. This is not the first time Vivid has surreptitiously posted underhanded and/or veiled comments denigrating their “Arizona” competition. This is a reoccurring theme of their marketing plan. I am all in favor of companies bringing less expensive, better performing products to market. However, there is no need to malign your competitors along the way with factually unsupported accusations of wrongdoing (particularly when the competitor is a board sponsor). Instead, let your products speak for themselves. If they are in fact superior, and less expensive, people will buy the products. Its that simple.

Proto makes an outstanding product. So does UMW, Ruf, EVOMS, and several other tuners. However, I have NEVER seen Todd K. or Kevin or Mr. Ruf or Todd Z. come on here and accuse their competitors of dishonesty, false representations, inaccurate performance data or consumer fraud. Rather, these companies let their products speak for themselves. These companies take the high road.

Vivid is the new kid on the block and they may well have an outstanding product. However, IMHO, they are lacking in etiquette and civility.

I see there is some ongoing drama between some shops... ouch....
I am sure it goes back long before we all knew about it... ( I'm assuming).

As far as the "Why the enduring campaign to conceal the relationship that everyone is already well aware of? " as Craig stated... well maybe because of some agreements between the parties(I think). I can only verify that a experienced programmer polished the final product... So there is nothing to conceal... because if it was that programmer's product it would be twice as much... and rightly so...
this is just my opinion and as usual ... opinions are like *******s... everyone has one and they all stink. LOL J/K

I live in Phoenix and have had extensivie first hand dealings with both tuners with my M3.
I have chosen Evolution Motorsport to modify my 996TT. Their customer service is outstanding and I have seen and experienced what they are capable of.

I hear you..also see you posted on M3Forum regarding EVOMS and their poor install on serveral E46 M3 VFE SC installs and customer issues. Yours went fine..others went bad due to "one bad installer" EVOMS claimed they fired the guy etc...and had discussions with other techs..yada..

Edited: Bad memory about another SG650 that I thought was GT kit someone had problems with...my bad!!

Out...

Well don't all tuners experience good and bad at times? I never said they walked on water and am very realistic with my expectations when I modify a car. I have had my share of nightmares here in Phoenix form other tuners and don't believe in trashing others on the internet. Just not my style. I simply move on and never look back.

EVOMS doesn't walk on water. They have a history here of good, and bad too. Isn't there a thread about somebody with a GT600 kit that just wouldn't run worth a crap..they couldn't solve it for the life of them..then they just talked the customer into a GT700?!?! Maybe my memory stinks..but I remember reading that thread here and thingking WTF is that?

Out...
AH........are you talking about this thread???????

Wrong tuner......maybe you should look up the thread and make sure you have the story straight before you discredit someone.Your memory stinks BTW!

Every tuner has good and bad experiences. Period. Some are public, some are VERY public and some are private.

A couple of questions for the Vivid guys:

Does Softronic have a dealer network? The reason I ask is that a couple of tuners are more or less a one man show and if they got hit by a bus (or more likely I pissed them off and they wouldn't deal with me any more) that their knowledge would die with them. So if a "victim in Az" gets pissed off and guns down Vivid is there another option for upgrades etc? I would wait until after the funeral to start dating a new tuner out of respect

Secondly, I have an exhaust whose main pastime is throwing CELs. Mitch said once before that Softronic can raise the trip threshold, but where is that done? Do I do it in the software or would that be done by you?

Ahhh.yes...I recant...you are correct..that is why I said check my memory.

I will change my previous post to edit that out..but they did in fact screw up several M3 VFE SC installs..

KPG..won't leave any marks, unlike many, I am big enought to admit when I was incorrect. Which I said in the original post my memory might be wrong..it was an SG650 kit..not the GT600.. my mistake.

Man you are morbid.

I am not even going to respond to that as I don't know if I should laugh or cry.
