Man, I am sorry to hear about your ticket. Do not plead guilty and get a lawyer. You never know whats going to happen. Did the cop actually catch you doing 120? or did he catch you while you were slowing down??

edit: I did not have a lawyer with me. It was my first ever offense, I plead guilty because I felt fortunate enough that I didn't get hauled into jail and have my car impounded.

There was a thread around here somewhere with an attorney reference that guaranteed to get any ticket dropped or you paid nothing. Worth checking into.

this is what I was looking for...

good luck!

Find out who the best traffic attorney is in your area. What will likely happen is that the attorney will try to get your hearing rescheduled over and over again and eventually it will get dismissed.

You need a good local lawyer with connections. It will cost a lot right now but in the end you come out ahead and hopefully learned your lesson.

Get a lawyer, be respectful and show remorse.

You need about 5 grand to get a nicht schuldig verdict.

www.stantheraradman.com

As long as it's 22348b and not 23103.

Pony up the 5 grand, or take the hassle that a 2 point conviction comes with, which include an up to 30 day license suspension, super charged insurance rate.

Worse of all, a 22348b conviction means you get really really screwed by the 3 and 5 year provision. If you get convicted again for 22348b within 3 year of this baby, it's 6 month suspension, and within 5 years, 1 year suspension.

Talk to Stan and see if he can get you out of it, otherwise, say hello to 99.999999mph driving for the next 5 years.

Oh, and take some DE's before you get somebody killed.

FYI,
Officers do not have the authority to take your license for speeding. It is not a felony, if you were cited for 22348 or 22349 it's a simple, albeit, expensive speeding ticket. They can only take you to jail for misdemeanor violations, reckless, speed ex, etc.

I think I saw you...I remember driving past and thinking: "Poor guy...Christmas day."

I'm sorry man. I actually just got a ticket for 90 in a 60 a couple of weeks ago. To echo everyone else, get a lawyer and hopefully get it reduced to as little as possible.

That's what I thought too. But the officer that stopped me a couple of weeks ago said something along the lines of: "you're lucky I'm having a good day and don't feel like taking your license and impounding your car right here."

I didn't argue .
