Say adios to that license of yours unless you have a stellar lawyer.

You are screwed. I can't recall if it's 25 or 30mph but a certain amount over and the rules change dramatically, no traffic school, 2 points etc. Did he write you up for wreckless driving or was it just a speed violation?

Look up the CVC onine. I believe Stuka is the resident expert on these matters but I would definitely get an attorney involved.

I got a ticket last year in Barstow for 120 in a 70. $711 fine, 2 points, but I did not lose my license. My insurance did double though...Good luck.

edit: I did not have a lawyer with me. It was my first ever offense, I plead guilty because I felt fortunate enough that I didn't get hauled into jail and have my car impounded.

There was a thread around here somewhere with an attorney reference that guaranteed to get any ticket dropped or you paid nothing. Worth checking into.

Thats BS......he was going over 120 mph, I wouldn't respect a cop giving a pass on those speeds. The cop did him a favor by not arresting him on Christmas. This is one of those "you play, you pay" situations, of which all of us with high powered cars have to deal with.

Get a lawyer, be respectful and show remorse.

Going 100+ and especially on x-mas day w/ other families on the roads visiting their relatives = you're in deep $hit w/ any and all judges.

Consider it an x-mas present that he didn't take your license away.

Spend the money for your increased insurance premiums on a lawyer. That is your only chance of keeping it as low a possible.

Also...here is a thread just for you...

Where in OC did you get the ticket. I wanted to take a drive today on PCH but felt it was too windy. Sorry to here about the ticket. You have to be extra careful for the next 12 months.

you def need a lawyer...over a 100 can sometimes be thought of as a felony as they believe anything or anyone you hit...and death will occur...

sorry to hear about it...but man...you are very lucky the cop let you off.
