Jacking 996TT on "Engine Case"

Is it the accepted method when one needs to jack up the rear of a 996TT to put it on jackstands that the center of the engine case is the only place you can do this? No lift is available !

Can the pro 911 mechanics please chime in?

Happy Holidays All!...............Gman

I have done it many many times.

I use a 2x4 the long way along the case seam (where it is bolted together) to
lay out the stress of the jacking point some.

I changed my exhaust and plugs and used only a floor jack with two jack stands. It is very safe but be careful when setting the jack stands, use 2 people. I use a 2X10, a 2X4 is usally yellow pine here in Florida which is pretty brittle and can crack. You can go to the Imagine Auto page and see a good picture from under the car.
