Kenwood DNX7100 or Pioneer AVIC-Z2 for Video Ipod control via NAV unit??
I have a 2002 996TT and am installing a NAV unit this week. Ideally I'll be able to control CD/DVD/Sirius/Backup camera/CD changer/ipod via this unit . . . both the Pioneer AVIC-Z2 and Kenwood DNX7100 have these capabilities however i can't find a straight answer to the following issue:
the most important feature to me is I WANT TO BE ABLE TO CONTROL MY IPOD VIDEOS VIA THE NAV UNIT . . .
Is this possible using either of these units? anyone have any success? please advise . . . thanks!!
EDIT - also any successful experiences with a "stealth" install of both the backup camera and Sirius antenna would be greatly appreciated!!

TripleBlack,
Please post or PM me the details of this install (which amp and which speakers did you buy, who is doing the install and what did they quote you for the entire job, in terms of price AND time?)
I have an '01 996TT with the NAV system that I am dying to upgrade.
Thanks.

With the windows up and speeds of around 140, no issues, now thats with a FVD exhaust....Now with the FVD bypass pipes forget it, you cant even hear yourself think. It really does work great, Mic placement is everything, at first It was installed in the factory location( cluster surround ) , it was OK but some complained of a slight echo, then i moved it to the top by the dome lights and it turned out it was perfect! I have had zero complaints in the new spot. The interface works well, simple and you can upload your phone book, granted I had to do it one at a time but worked

NineNineSixTT,
Please send me the specifics of your install:
- did you have the Porsche NAV in there before?
- what other hardware did you end up installing (amp, speakers, ...)?
Where did you have it done and how much did they charge?
thanks.
Patrick

I did not have porsche nav previous to my system upgrade.
I removed the all the bose setup. I upgraded all the speakers/tweeters in the car. I went with 3x 8" JL w3v2 subs, Genesis Amps, Focal speakers and of course the DNX7100.
Its tough to say how much i spent. When i went began to upgrade the sound, it was much similiar to performance upgrades. I kept wanting more.
I had it done at a shop in Studio City. I was worried about just having anyone work on my car. So beforehand, i got refferals from others about this shop. They do great work, and Porsches are nothing new for them. PM me if you need further information.
TB996TT: don't forget about the IPOD cable
