Sean:

Like I said, you were in a tough spot and I don't know what I would do, or even what you should have done. It is too difficult to say. I am glad you are OK, and hope he doesn't hurt others.

MT3CH, how well will Sean sleep if the perp go and rapes and murders someone elses family, or even Sean's?

You (and I) just can't accurately judge the whole situation.

Crash, since this is a car board and I want to keep things light, I will not respond to your post other than to say I disagree with your views.

Glad to hear you made it through ok. I always carry a gun with me wherever i go and a couple in various locations in the shop..you never know when it might be neccesary. This is the reason gun rights should be protected. It was best not to have to kill him though- mostly because of the havoc it would play on your personal life with cops, defending yourself in court etc. BTW, what the f*@k has happened to our gene pool!?! Seems like so many genetic dead enders running around creating problems for the rest of us.

And I say I disagree with yours . Now don´t get me wrong, I´d gladly drill some holes into the guy if he attacked me, but not if he just sat there.

Anyway, Shawn, any luck finding the perp?

This has turned out to be a good thread...

I think this thread has been very productive at raising some issues which each of us need to be aware of. While not particularly car related, it has made everyone who participated aware:

1. Crap like this does happen, and it can happen to you.

2. Critical life changing decisions sometime need to be made in seconds.

3. If you carry a gun... there is no substitute for training.

4. It is wise to always lock your doors before you drive off.

5. If you ever do need to protect yourself or others; shoot to stop the threat (some may still disagree with this one).

Good thread... Kudos to Shawn for sharing.

Joe, think I can agree, except I would add to your point #2, the only way you know hoe you would react is to go through the real experience. Hopefully, no others of us will have to. Secondly, regarding point number 5, I would add, IF you do have to use deadly force, DO precisely that, use deadly force and kill the target.

Otherwise, we are in large agreement.

Got a call from the dective who's working on my case. He had a few questions for me again and said I should hear from him by the end of the week. I'll keep you guys updated. He also said the same thing, That the prints are better than getting a licence plate.

Anyhoo, where did you take your concealed weapons permit class, I think me and Evan need to start looking into this. You never know when crap will go down in South FL, luckily everyone thinks I am a drug dealer in a completely blacked out BMW.

Thank god your safe and ok! Take it easy man, life is too short!

Peace,
J
Thanks, You can take your concealed weapons course this weekend at the Ft.Lauderdale gun show. Its at the War Memorial between 9-5 Sat and Sun. The course is around $50 I believe. Takes about two months to get your card in the mail. They do finger prints, and background check all right there. Gun Shows are the best way to get a permit. Expect to be in class for around 2 hours. I will be there Sunday.
Need more guns

Please elaborate. Furthermore, I think it´s inappropriate to register on the board and begin flaming people in your first post.

ding, ding, ding.....you are correct sir

As a real CCW holder and one who carries daily i see way too may holes in his story and too much "hollywood" bravado crap therefore i doubt if there is an ounce of truth to it.

Call me a troll all you want, I am just a truthteller...It annoys real, responsible gun owners when some wanna be plays gansta and talks smack.....draw a lot of bad attention to my ability to excersize my 2A rights

I realize that this is a serious board and there is some serious money invested in some great automobiles and that I respect as I drive a BMW745...I am nt some young punk...As I stated earlier, I beleive that there are serious holes in his story and although an incident may or may not have occured I dont thik it was near what he is describing.
I have also seen my share of bad situations and been forced to draw on a few occasions and would not wish that on my worst enemy.
