There is a version with round tail lights-- a bit Corvetish-- so I am staying with my(and others) guess!

I think you would have known what went past you...

I have never not known a car that has gone by me????

Will you be revealing more clues as the weeks go on in regards to this mystery car?

He didnt pass me I pulled up behind him...haha
And I dont know what other clues to give...it was a 2 door coupe, chunky, not too streamlined like a Corvette, really macho looking - looked mighty like a Shelby Mustang to me but it had 2 red round lights the same size and side by side - not oval or square or rectangular or orange or white or yellow. Made a gorgeous noise too. I now wished I followed him as he turned off!!!!

Could it have been a 300ZX/Fairlady with tail light conversion?

Do any TVR's have quad rounds?
