What ever happened to DMK's car?
#16
Marty,
When Donald had the car (and ran the 10.82), it was full weight (just like yours) and the NOS sysem was not hooked up to the intercoolers (or anywhere for that matter). He did have a regular GT700 kit and was running DR's though. The same set up the Joe Curry has on his GT2 (10.77) and Chinitowest had in his blue TT (10.88). All are regular FULL WEIGHT GT700s.
With the Full Techart Body kit, Motons, PCCB's, Seats, Roll Bar, Fikse's on PSCups and motor work he had done he definately had over $100k in the car.
All of the things that I just mentioned are still in the car (minus the motor) making the $50k price pretty good considering how clean this car was.

Somebody should save that beauty from that graveyard.

I am sure it was a monster......I don't understand why he didn't rebuild the motor.Anyone know why?

Some one should go have a look at it and offer them about 35K in cash....you never know..
BTW, anyone know how the car ended up at that place ?? Really sad to see...

Ahhh yeah, in the pics it's also missing a motor. It does not mean that that weight loss made it run faster in the 1/4 too. The fuel system came off the car when they were removing the motor therefore the boot looks empty. Like I said before, the car was full weight plus when it ran the 1/4 in AZ. The car had more than that in it too, with the right driver and in the correct conditions. (Not in AZ elevation)

Btw Lu, what trap did Joe attain with his gt2? What I still find fascinating is that Mario (9eleven) ran an 11.1 with just a tune and exhaust!

that interior is horrid !
#26
That's the problem I find with most white 996TT. The interiors are either tan or grey and it's usually a Tip.

Vince your right, although I forgot the members name, but he had natural brown gt3 seats, black carpeting and accents on the interior and it was absolutely beautiful , was a lapis blue car. Done right it can look great, the black seats on tan looks terrible though.

I felt the same way about the interior until I saw it in person, trust me the car is a knockout.Really beautiful! It hurts to see it in a salvage yard and it is not even my car.Somebody buy it before me ......I bet it can be picked up for 40k.

I feel like buying it! It was one of the prettiest cars I ever did see!!! I dont understand Don's reasoning either, why spend so much on a car just to let it rot!

The only thing that I know about the car for sure when I saw it in December 2006
at the Dragstrip that they always go to. (I have pictures, video and times for most
of the cars. Ex: as of that day Todd Z's 997TT shop car had not broken into the 10's
(but he was awfully close). DMK was spraying his IC's with Nitrous. The bottle had
been filled the day or so before. He had really nice high trap speeds and ran alot
of low 11's (like me). I believe he ran in the 10's later in the afternoon. He had begun
lightening the car (Luis, I will grab my notes if you like), and it certainly was not full
weight. JoeTT's car that also ran that day was full weight.
DMK's cars was very beautiful.
GT2's with similar mod's dont really count, they are a COMPLETELY different animal.
Maybe we can agree to disagree on some of this. Todd Z. did tell me it was his fastest GT700
that he had done?
Lius, I beleive this was the day you ran such a great time in your GT3!
