How do you find the maintenance history

First let me say that I'm really happy with my 02 X50 that I bought 3 months ago, but I don't know the history of the car because it wasn't with it and the dealer couldn't provide it. I did a carfax search, and had a PPI done by a Porsche dealer with nothing discovered, and it runs awesome... no complaints. Also, under full boost I get .8 to 1.0 bar (1.0 bar on cool days) so I wonder if it has a reflash. Is there a way to tell? I didn't ask the P car dealer specifically.

Is there a way to get the maintenance history from PCNA? It has 40K on it and I'd like to know when the spark plugs were changed, if it's had a clutch changed, did it suffer from 2nd gear pop out, oil change frequency, etc.

slant911 is infamous around these parts
Well you have to do some searching on your own here. PCNA does not have a national database of service done. They can tell you who the originating dealer was and hopefully (crossing fingers) that dealer can tell you some or all of the service history IF the service was done there. If not then next step for me is to call other dealers in the area that are reasonable distance away and see if they have any service history. Chances are pretty good though that you will never find out ALL the history.

I love these cars and have had plenty of them but I have always complained about not having a national database. MB does, Lexus does, crap I think Toyota even does...Why not Porsche???

PCNA can also tell you if there was any warranty work on the car and the dealer that performed the work.

0.8-0.9 bar is pretty normal for the X50, and a spike to 1.0 bar when cold would not be unusual for stock. The ECU flash for the X50 usually brings boost to 1.1-1.2 bar.
