Ferrari of Porsche. Interesting thread at ferrarichat

There is an interesting thread over at ferrarichat and it appears that quite a few have commented on owning both and some members over there still own both a Porsche and a Ferrari. I would love to see some feeback from some of our members as I have always considered buying a 360, I just love the speed of my Porsche too much.

It is interesting to go thru the thread. Seems like there is a lot of "status" undertones...that's cool. To each his own.

No doubt Ferrari's are great vehicles. I'll probably own one someday.

I love the look, feel, and performance of my Turbo. It's the right car for me.

jcramair1, gotta ask...would you get the 360 in white? I know you like white!!!

I wonder how those guys would defend the fact that the Corvettes destroyed the 550/575 Maranello's and the GT3RSR's destroyed the 360 Modena's at LeMans this year...

The Ferrari was filled with too much passion and was weighed down by it.

I love the design of some of the Ferrari's. I love the sound of the V-12. The power is respectable on some of the models.

Wouldn't it be boring to have every car manufacture look, sound and perform to one criteria? Even if they wanted to, they couldn't agree on that one criteria, thank God.

Keep in mind two things:

1. the Ferrari's beat the Corvettes last year and are a private team.
2. Chevy had to get a rule change allowing them to run a base motor that you cannot buy in that car in order to be competitive with the Vipers (back in the day) or the Ferrari's.

Nothing like the sound of a V12 Ferrari.

I was out in the 360 yesterday, and it is amazing how much attention it gets. Especially at the beach. People just freak out it's pretty funny actually. It's not a car you would want to drive everyday, but fun none the less. I do agree that no matter how good of an exaust you get for a Porsche it dosent sound as good as a Ferrari. The CGT sounds like all Porsches should sound.

As soon as I go through a mid-life criss and am more interested in the way a car makes me look instead of the smile it puts on my face is when I will go to ferrari. I think viagra and ferrari sales coincide a little too closely

A bit of a an exagerration, ferrari's are great sports cars, I just like the slightly understated look of a porsche that is backed up with extreme performance (although no one can deny the sweet sound any ferrari makes).

Thumbs up Ferrari Sounds

I'll never forget the sounds of the Ferrari V12 330 SP; my oh my' it made the hair stand up on the back of your head!

Also ANY Ferrari Formula 1 car, including the little 60's 1.5 liter machines, awesome.

The 360 is a fine car, one of our fellow enthusiasts out here on the left coast owns a C4S, 993 version and a 360. Good on 'em!

My father owns an F1 Spider and he brought it to work today. A partner of mine was admiring the car so I put the top down and took him for a ride. There is nothing like the sound of a Ferrari - V8 or 12. The whine/roar/rumble when you wind it up to 8,000 RPMS is unbelievable. It's an incredible car - very easy to drive and if the right comes up I'd probably trade my TT Cab for one. However, it definately feels slower and nothing can compare to the torque of a TT.

As much pleasure as I get out of bashing vettes, I wouldn't call the LeMans race a bashing by corvette. They were actually multiple laps down to the lead Ferrari when IT had trouble, until then, the Ferrari was running, well maybe not running, but walking quickly away.

I think it's funny how corvette is screaming about all of their success now, cause they sure couldn't say **** when they couldn't beat the (factory) Vipers.

Oh man, wouldn't the GTS series get REALLY interesting IF Porsche goes and makes that 928-like GT, using the Cayenne's Twin Turbo V-8??????
