which turbo/ecu to go with?
Ok, I have an Evo intake, bailey DV, Europipe loud and need advice on just getting turbos and tuning to complete the setup. I am looking for the most that can be put to a factory clutch setup which is new and dont want to have to change it, at least not till it lets go again.

Wll ur basing ur limitation on ur clutch... and it will go... just a matter of time... if u dont want to replace it then maybe just a simple flash will be fine. the minute u do turbos then with 15K miles u will change the clutch.
The other think to consider is for u not to spend $$$ on a ecu flash for stock turbos... then u get the itch and u have to pay more of the upgrade to the next ecu. Pick a tuner that will either upgrade it for a nominal fee like $500 otherwise it does not make sense to do the ecu and wait till the clutch goes...

OK if I don't limit myself to the clutch and limit it to what can be realistically put down to the street and knowing that the street and playing on the street is where it will live , what combo makes the most sense?

K16 based hybrids like k16/24 are good but will will get killed by K24 hybrids or garrett turbos. the last two will produce more power especially up on top where the smaller turbos choke. with that said imagine being at a small short track with lots of turns... the K16 or K16/24 turbos will do better then the K24 hybrids or garrett based turbos... however these last two will outperform the smaller ones on the street with brute power.

the point is that once ur in 2nd gear the bigger turbos take over and 3rd gear blow the smaller ones away... so if ur doing 0 to 80 mph then just stay with a ecu flash and keep ur clutch. of ur doing 3rd and 4th gear pulls then u need bigger turbos if u want to compete with new vettes and other similar cars...

As Markski said, drive one or two different cars and then figure out what works best for you. If you like off the line sprints, then basic upgrades are plenty, and you dont need to go with upgraded turbos. If you want serious power and pull at highway speeds, get an upgrade kit.

honestly at the end of the day it comes down to how much cash you want to really spend.. i say this as you can spend a lot of money going the right way and even more money going the wrong way.. I recommend the following
Upgrade everything you think you dont need to really upgrade: Clutch, IC and so fourth.
then do the things such as turbos and so fourth.. it would suck to put a GT turbo on your car and then not drive her for a minute or two cause you needed a new clutch

I agree always start with a good base. There is allot more power to get out of cars, with out doing Turbos. Obviously when you do turbos it will be the biggest improvement, but don't discount ICs, tires, Clutch, DVs and Waste gates. One of the things that made a HUGE difference was my Strait pipes ( no cats), yes its very loud for some, but not me
