Can anyone recommend an independent mechanic in Cincinnati?
It is for my 01 TT - At this point I am not planning any major mods but just want someone knowledgeable and fair. I live in Clifton so someone close to that area would be a bonus. Thanks!

If you don't mind the drive the Centerville (exit 45 off I-75N), go see Danny King at P3 Automotive. http://p3automotive.com/
I've had 3 p-cars and he's serviced all of them. I'll relay two stories about him: First, I had a leak in my secondary coolant tank. Dropped the car off outside his shop and put the keys in the drop box. I didn't tell him anything and he called me the next day to say he had found the problem, had the tank overnighted and fixed it - all without any instruction from me. I think it was about $200 total.
Second, I had the second gear pop-out problem in my 996tt. I didn't know anything about it at the time but told him the symptoms. He immediately guessed the second gear synchros and was right. I was freaked about the price, he said about $4k to fix it and he was spot on without even looking at it. Then he let me watch the process of dismantling the gearsets and explained the inner workings of manual transmissions to me. I was later told that if I had brought my car to the dealer, they wouldn't have even attempted to fix it - would have advised me to buy a rebuilt tranny.
Danny's a lifesaver and knows p-cars inside and out. I couldn't recommend him more strongly.
