Spark Plug Replacement Question
#5
Thanks, guys. I guess I'll try that, too. I'm learning a lot about my car this winter...
Any things to be aware of before I proceed? - such as things that may break easily if you're not careful, or gaskets that should be replaced, etc.
996twin, I use the plugs supplied by Protomotive, as pictured here. They are Denso PK20PR-??

Inspect the coil packs for cracks, make sure the connector clicks fully into place when the coil pack is put back. Probably obvious but don't skimp on the torque wrench 7 ft.lbs
I used Bosch FR6 LDC set to 0.8mm 0.032".

Just a quick note - I found that mine didn't click at all, audibly or otherwise. Just be sure to torque back down the bolts securing the coil packs and all will be fine. Also make sure to have a couple of swivel attachments handy to get some of the bolts in/out.

7 Ft lbs isnt for plugs ,it is for the coil packs. 22 ft lbs is in the Porsche manual for plugs and 7.5 ft lbs for the coil packs.... John, the right tool is a very good Tq wrench. Preferably one that comes with a calibration certificate like a Snap-ON.
