Predictions for future 996 TT depreciation

Keep your discussion civil and there will be no reason for you to fear the moderators.
I don't have any desire to exchange insults via PM.
If you want to talk about the subject of future 996 TT depreciation, keep posting in this thread. If not, there are plenty of other interesting threads on this forum.

I have not insulted you once
I still do not understand why you are posting this, you don't even have a 996TT and you are not interested in buying one (so you say!) so what is the point of you being here?
#63
And you posted the information about the website and briefcase because you want to buy one?
I am interested in the 996 TT.
I stated that very clearly in post #44 on the bottom of page 3 of this thread. I think you missed that post while you were writing post #46 at the top of page 4.
You have apparently misinterpreted my post #28, where I stated I was not interested in a bargain-basement TT.
Post #44 should clear it up for you. If not, you are beyond help.

I never said you cant afford one, I said that will be to much for you.
I am interested in the Briefcase, it looks Lush.
You changed your tune from post 39 and you made it clear you only wanted to know all along.
I am not here to argue with you, that's what will **** mods off, told you take it to PM if you wish to keep on throwing it up!

I don't think my tune has changed. I think my posts have been consistent.
I don't think anything more needs to be said.

What? John, post 40 is the only other post that even mentions NA 996. NA meaning Normally Aspirated (non-Turbo 996), not North American.

Who cares what the 996TT will be in 3 years... By then maybe will will have a standalone so we the owners can have more control over the tuning and make the TTs faster then ever before.

I was just making fun of the doofus who started referencing post numbers........PLEASE tell me you did not go look up those random posts to see what they said

Back to topic...one Euro is $1.48...was close to $1.29 2004...$.84 at low in 2001. Porsche can not sell the Turbo at it's 2001 cost, or 2004 cost in dollars. Porsche has hedged against a dollar drop, but not indefinitely. I think many on this forum think these cars sell for less than they really do. Many ebay car auctions that seem like great deals never reach reserve...yes the starting bids are low but rarely are owners or dealers letting these cars go as low as reported here. Check the number of auctions there that actually result in a sold car, I doubt if it is even 5%.
Also look at the prices of the normally asp. cars. I can't see the twin going below those levels. Anyway, I think they are already stabilizing...and will begin to appreciate if the dollar stays weak and the economy doesn't tank.

dublinoh- Excellent points about the euro/dollar exchange rates. That had not been mentioned in this thread thus far. And I agree 100% about the prices in this thread. They are not statistically significant in number and they represent "bottom feeders" from the tail end of the bell curve.
