I am currently running Advan Sport on my setup... its quiet and still grips pretty hard.
I can vouch for them in wet traction as I have driven through some HORRIBLE rains the past weekend. it rained so hard i couldnt see past 5 feet yet they still gripped pretty hard.
i'll tell you how well the last when i decide to go for a new set.

The tread wear on those is horrible though. At least by tire rack's standards. I think i'll just stick with the PS2. Thanks guys!

PS2 are the only way to go (in my opinion)...I have found them to be the best in street tire performance...tru they are a bit more moolah...but...I wouldnt put anything else on my car..

I have MSPC and they are good in the rain, kinda quiet, and the grip is great over stock tires. I would get the T1r next.

i wont lie... unless you plan on tracking the car, you wont see the difference between the grip of the tires.
ive gone through vredestein ultrac sessenta, advan sport, michelin ps2s and for what its worth, ill most likely go back to the advans or vredestein.

RA1 vs R888 have the same wear. RA1 would be my choice for a street tire, R888 is a little louder (I use to work for toyo)

PS2's are WAAAYYYY Overpriced! yes, they are the best....10% better than the Toyo Tr 1's (for nearly double the price!!!)
I run the TR-1's on my M3 and G35...Michelin can go F*** themselves for what they charge!
On my GT2 I run Nitto NT 1's. Awesome dry weather tire.... R-compounds, hooks 640 rwhp from a 40 punch and are great on the track. Just don't use them in the rain or you will die: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...d.php?t=100033

Which tires do you recommend for the track use to use RA1's but want to try R888's which are their replacements or NT01's?!?!

That's pretty amazing! Interesting that the general consensus over at Rennlist is that the R888's last longer. How much for a new set of RA-1's?

My dad just got a set of BBS mounted with a set of RA1s and they are SOOOO sticky compared to the Conti SportContact2s he had on the TechArts, then again, these are R-compounds...I must say they are a bot noisier, but you get use to it after a while. I guess when he wears out the RA1s he'll try the R888s.

Rep Power: 130 you are comparing apples to oranges, ie R compound track tires which are DOT legal to regular high performance street tires.
need to decide what you actually want. NO R compound tire tread or not is going to be great in a full down pour.
PS2's are really one of the best tires for the street
R888's best tire to do some dry weather driving and mostly for driving too track events if you dont have a second set of wheels.
Hoosiers are best if car is just track driven and they really cant be driven on the street.

-a good "street" tire for occasional track use
-something that will work in a 305 or larger for 18's
-something with "good" tread life
I found through a decent amount of research that the PS2 and R888 were pretty comparable (and highest ranking) within these respects. I've also heard (from a very reputable board member) that despite the R888 being an R-compound tire it lasts just as long or longer than a PS2.
