Anything special about the 2005 GT2???

I see a number of 2002 and 2003 GT2s for sale on the web and in magazines. I have also found a few 2005 GT2s with a few thousand miles on them, but it seems that the prices are $30k-$40k more than the 02s and 03s. Granted these are a couple years older than the 05, but $40k seems like a big difference for this. Granted the miles are lower, but by only a couple thousand. That's why I was wondering if there was something special or unique about the 2005s. Is it worth $30k-$40k more for an 05 vs the older ones?????
Thx

According to previous posts on this forum, there were only 5 GT2s sold in US as 2005 models. Rarity brings a premium price tag. Other differences from 2002-03 were modest. Whether they are worth the extra $ the market will determine.

The 05's are super rare, and thats the cause for the serious $$$ difference. Go with an 02 or 03 and mod that bad boy!

Its worth the extra $30-40k if you want to have one of the 5 brought to these shores.
Talk about rarity, GT2 is God !

Is there any way to confirm that only 5 were sent to the US? This is huge, but it still hurts to pay such a high premium for this.
Thanks for the input. The other thing I wonder about is the 2008 GT2. I know it will be faster and I like the idea of traction control on a RWD car. The problem is I don't know how fast it will take the prices to fall on these cars..... I am definitely do not want to be the one to take the huge depreciation hit in the first year like people did with the 2002-2004 GT2s.

Rarity combined with the fact that some of the late 05 cars came with the GT3R oil pump and added sleeving. "Spanish case" cars according to Sharkey. I'll bet that the 05 GT2's have this as well.

there were 7 05 GT2's produced and 5 came to the US. MSRP was $195,000. These is one that comes tot he weekly C&C. Here is a picture of it.

During my research, I was also told that the 2005 Turbo S and 2005 GT2 have the exact same motors.

His has a 09/2004 production date.
