Europipe (EP)Stage 1 has no "loud" or "quiet" versions.....EP 1 only comes in one flavor. I bought the Stage 1 and am now being told that if you want to flash, you need to jump into the EP 2 variety....most all of the tuners will tell you that you need the EP Stage 2 for their flashes....EP 2 uses 70mm piping whereas EP Stage 1 uses 60mm. Although I was going to trade up, I just really like the sound and performance that I'm getting out of the Stage 1 without a flash....with the stock system except for diverter valves (EVOM) on my X50 I was running at .8 boost. With the EP Stage 1, even though it's admittedly 60mm piping, I'm hitting 1.0 and 1.1...so I'm wondering why bother to get rid of it. What I found interesting is that none of the tuners have any information available on the results of tuning an EP Stage 1 exhaust system....all the data comes from tuning a Stage 2. That leaves me wondering what would happen if you tuned a EP Stage 1 system? From my research, a lot of the header manufactuers are also using 60mm stainless....so what's the difference? I don't know....I'm asking you experts out there. I do know that most tuners would want the 70mm pipe to maximize their results and not limit you to 600 HP.....but has anyone run dyno or done any R and D on the use of the EP Stage 1?? I would love to hear from someone who's versed in the subject.

Tone: Do you have a flash with the EP Stage 1? If so...which flash? I cant' get any info on performance specs for the EP Stage 1 with a flash. I really like the sound level and performance....so I'm not looking for any more volume out of the exhaust....just info on anyone who has tuned an X50 with an EP Stage 1. I know "they say it works up to 600 HP" but I can't find anyone who fits into the category of "they say"....who is "they say"???? I realize it might be easier to just sell the EP Stage 1...but I like it....and I'm not about to swap out without some more definitive data other than "they say"...........

Tone: I didn't read your post closely enough...you have the UMW flash....and you're using the EP Stage 1...so you are one of those folks who have the same system I have. This is what I've been looking for.

Can you PM me with a phone number? I'd really like to talk to you about this without going back and forth on the forum.

chuck
