Thanks to fellow 6speed user Joeacc. After talking to him I find got the ***** to attempt the 997 door handle conversion. I will be doing the conversion after SEMA as the car needs to be on a trailer next Sunday.
I contacted the guys at LA Porsche Dismantler in Sun Valley, and Todd and his crew over there were able to get me a 997 boxter drivers side and passenger side door with all the door guts for a great price. After the door handle conversion from the outside the entire car will look like a 997 turbo.

yeah its never ending. I was not planning to do the door or the mirrors but that all changed. I really wish I did it before the car was painted though. Its basically like doing everything twice.

I get the use of Carbon fiber when trying to lose weight...but just for the look....i don't get that. I am guessing that weight was not a concern due to the massively tacky, stereo that is wedged in there.
Is that done to sell stereos?
I love the car, the look is cool too. It's the "rice" factor I don't get. You are clearly skilled and motivated. Why target the rice crowd? Why not the well heeled crowd that would be able to afford this?
Sorry if I seem rude. I am not trying to be an ***. Just asking out of curiosity.
