Rotors - Who makes the lightest weight rotors?

I agree. Assuming we get ~ 5 orders, i think we'll hit the same price point ~$1800. With 10 orders i think we'll likely drop below it.
Since the product will be out in late June, we could probably get a group buy together the 1st week of June, run it for a week to 10 days and get all the orders placed...
my 2 cents.

Repl;acements from coleman are $350 plus $50-ish for hardware, and coleman will make them fixed or floating, matters not to them...
So the RSS replacements are $600??? So everytime a track guy like me wants to replace the fronts, which will be atleast once per season, I'm looking at near double the price???
I have the coleman solution on my car right now, and the 997 Turbo rears worked like a charm on my car this weekend... They average about $320 per pair from our other sponsor, Suncoast...
I put down nine 25 minute sessions at VIR between Friday and today, running in White run group all weekend, using Pagid pads on all four corners and the brakes performed flawlessly... i'll mic them again this week to check wear, but after four days of use I had Zero measurable wear on them, and other guys at the First Settlers PCA event told me that they'd been using colemans and averages a full season (20+ track days) on them.

I thought we had gotten down to ~600 with coleman and the replacements were only in the ~300 range, which is still less than factory.
I'm all for people trying RSS as they are a forum sponsor, and I think we really need some people to try both for a comparison, but as long as RSS is a forum sponsor they should get the benefit of the doubt here.
When the group rates are available let us know. We still dont have a facilitator for coleman so they will likely end up being the same price with a discount from RSS except for the replacements.

Coleman only will deal thru a vendor on large quantity buys. The prefer to establish a relationship with a "shop". I used to be a wholesaler with them when I had my suspension business... Don't have it anymore or the time to pull together a group purchase... That said, even without a group Purchase, the Coleman solution short term and long term for the fronts is cheaper... As to FlyYellow's comments about RSS having an advantage, I don't follow that at all... Coleman has been in business as COLEMAN Racing products for decades and they're used by many pro race teams, you just don't know it because their products get re-packaged and then sold under the vendor name.

I havent done anything yet. Demann motorsport has posted on rennlist and they have some solutions coming out, but with RSS not updating and coleman wanting a shop to facilitate the deal, it's not like we have a lot of options at this point.
I'll likely get whatever comes out first.

Coleman will deal direct with anyone... You just don't "get" a group discount... Initial cost is $900-1000 and after that it's the cost of the rotors and hardware, about $360 per pair.

This may have been answered in the past 10 pages, but I'll ask anyway...why the $900 initial set up cost? Please excuse my ignorance and laziness.

Larry, They need your Old (and I have one you could use) rotor to make the custom "hat" or "Bell" from. That center section is reused each time you replace the outter rotor. So for the first order you'd have the initial cost to make the custom center. After that you'd just be paying for the outter rotor and hardware kit.
itacud, I have no issues with the factory 997 TT rotor working with my 996TT caliper. The 997TT rotor is crossdrilled, but this isn't an issue with the rears like it is with the fronts. Rear rotor and pad wear is much less compared to the fronts...

Thanks for the reply. I am planning on changing out rotors again next week. (The performance friction 01 compound pads have the best bite I've felt, but man....the do wreck havoc on the rotors!) I will save the old rotors and send them off to Coleman. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Mike,
Can you share some details on how you adapted the 997TT rear rotors and used your stock 996TT rear caliper? I am hoping to go this route as well but understand that you may have adapted a custom bracket/adapter? Any details would be much appreciated.
I'm also looking into either the Brembo 14's or the GT3 6 pots. If I go with the GT3's then I'll be sourcing some slotted front rotors (Coleman, Deman, Protosport???). I'll post up what I wind up with when all is said and done to hopefully help the next guy going this route...
Anyone else have any updates to share since they've been running their recent setups?

Al's bracket is the way to go...
www.onlinemetals.com
Specs are earlier in this thread and the pic of Al's bracket is really what needs done. I need to re-do mine, since they're two pieces of aluminum square stock, where Al's is a single piece of the same stock... Works just fine.
With the OEM GT3 caliper, the OEM wheel will clear.
