Any good wheel cleaner?

Hi Guys,
Any there any good strong wheel cleaner that can remove tough stains (black tar-like spots?). I have tried bug and tar remover, but it didn't really help.
Thanks
Peter

i do not think any products from a place like auto zone would be strong enough. I would go to your detail shop and I am sure they would have something strong enough.

I think Griot's wheel cleaner does a great job.

it's good but not for tar, melted rubber or other adhesives. 3M does make a good product. There is also a product called OOPS that comes in two forms, water based and toluene based. Both are safe on wheels and OEM paint. But I would recommend only using these on small sections of your paint at a time and then immediately applying a wax and buff. I found it at WalMart

I do not think a wheel cleaner will help your problem. Your best bet is to clean the wheel throroughly with a high quality wheel cleaner such as Zymol Brite, P21S Wheel Gel, or similiar and then attack the stain with some adhesive remover or worst case, citric based solution. Hope this helps.

Is it okay to use the car wash (zaino or einszett) to clean the wheels?

Go to walmart and pick up Purple Power degreaser. remove the stains without letter it dry. it wont hurt your finish, and will get everything (everything!) off.

I didn't clean my rims for almost a year at one point since they were dark. Some eagle one A2Z and a clay bar did a good job cleaning them up

A2Z is amazing stuff

I have painted wheels and it's the best i've used on them yet. I've had a few others that leave a funny haze. :dunno:
