Do you know a club member who would be willing to loan a two car trailer that can be pulled behind a 3/4 ton duramax safely to a couple of fine upstanding fellow 6speeders?

Now the problem becomes the tires, 235/85-16 rated at 3024 per tire @55 mph (trailer tires are rated at 55, not 75) your total cap is 12168 lbs. and you are again over. This is why we run the XPS rib, they do not blow, period (steel sidewall, they are a tank). And they are a truck tire so 75+ is not a issue. Do your self a huge favor and just keep the goodyear (or nankang, carlile, cooper etc etc etc) as a spare and go get 4 of the XPS RIB, i'm not trying to make anyone spend $$$ BUT, I have done this all my life, those tires you get with a featherlight are CRAP. I have probably seen 50 of those things blow apart. And it really messes up your fenderwell. I tow at 85 and the Mich XPS are the stuff !!!!
Derboost - sorry about the previous rant. I agree 100% that safety is rule #1 here and tires play a huge part of that. I have towed 10,000 lb forklifts over the rockies on a 25 ft flatbed gooseneck. This is something I would not even consider attempting without quality tires.

I will explore the possibility of getting both cars into this trailer this week. I will only go forward with it if we are 110% sure we can do it safely. If not I will have to share pilot duties with Marty in that Rocketship he calls a Porsche.

No need to be sorry, I just would hate to see such a nice rig/cars damaged, I have had 4 featherlight trailers myself over the years. Right now I need to get a bigger one, same problem, my 996 and the wifes M3 to track days. My race car trailer is set for 1 car+golfcart+toolboxes+engine changer, etc ...just can't squeeze it all in there. I need a 55 foot semi-type rig...

YUp, I was amazed when I weighed my rig at a scale... Extra tires, four fuel cans full of fuel, full tool box, shelves with fluids, jackstands and jack, spare trailer tire, and my 10000# trailer & Dodge 3500 Cummins went across the scales at 21,180#... My truck weighs in at just under 12000#.

Atomic, We're not trying to be dicks... But if you guys have an incident and none of us voiced concern, we'd feel bad. I don't know your setup or your experience, but I've seen some stupid human tricks when towing... Just offering some things to include in your assessment of the trip.

It is amazing how the weight adds up when you start filling these trailers. That is why I paid a little extra for the featherlight. I bought it to put my car in with a couple of motorcycles, tools and all of the extras that go along with it. If we are able to get both cars in and make this trip safely - that will be great. If not - that is life.

There is a special rim made to fit these 5200 lb axels, it is a 16 inch 6 lug deal, and you go to a 225 75-16 xps rib and zero issues, I got my rims from discount tire, chrome steel only. It has the correct offset for trailer use and takes this tire. If you can fit it on the 235 is abetter choice, but most will rub.

ATOMIC,

There are (2) multiple car enclosed trailers where I keep my car but you all know
about borrowing things from others...It sucks if something happens.
I can drive my truck with my car INSIDE of it like I did last year to the Texas Mile
but I almost slit my wrists in boredom at 65 mph max (Isuzu 18 foot box City truck).
I am fully prepared to drive in the "comfort" of my GT3 seats to Houston. No problemo!
