The 3.8L or 102 mm liners/pistons are great providing you use the steel liners. Liners with the material that Woosner used did not hold up in alot of motors.

We are using 105.7 mm pistons/liners and a 80.1 mm crank.

Yes, I have been following your build for years now and once you are finished I would like to copy your set up! I am also interested in the crank that is being used by UMW... 9 grand sound wonderful.

I am glad I posted this, I pretty much had made up my mind on going forward with it. My thoughts are I am going to have the heads off and Installing cams...you know how that goes,.seeing how I will have it out and apart now is the time, I can save some $$$ in labor and more importantly I will feel safe and not worry about pounding on the car.I would like to know where you all think I should bring the car and how long should I book a room for and yes I will drive it there and back. Great time to break it in I think

Robert,

No secrets here. The crank was made by Arrow Precision (UK). Their main distributor in the US is Performance Developments. Cost of the crank is about $5,200.00. You will also need rods to go with the crank. These are also made by AP. About $2,200.00. Neil the owner of PD can be contacted at 949-646-7461.

If you want any information about my motor I would be more than happy to share.

What other parts are needed to upgrade at the time of engine build? Considering a 700BHP engine what type of rebuild would ya'll recommend for longevity and reliability? Would the GT3 crank be more suited for me?

Jags,

Handsome Rob's car I believe has been built in Houston by Akram and by the Knightons in Arkansas; using some fabbed parts and tuning by Protomotive. The car has made a couple trips to Arkansas (primarily for Todd's tuning on the dyno) including
as recent as a day to two ago. It has been a complicated build and I would not pretend to know the half of it. It sounds like it is currently running very well but is limited by the fuel system (Identical to my fuel system), and time needed to fabricate new fuel system. There are (4) other "Big Build" cars there that are all fighting for Knighton's time before TX2K8. They are working day and night to try to finish...

What range $$ should someone plan for on such a build?
When I have to go into my engine this would be a consideration.

Sounds good Rob. Are those RWHP numbers or at the crank? Can you post the dyno sheets?

Todd will not hand out your dyno sheets to third parties. Moreover, why should we write to Todd for YOUR dyno sheets? Why don't you post them yourself, so that we all can share in your tremendous success?

Now I am confused (it happens easily). If your car is being dynoed in Houston, aren't your dyno sheets also in Houston? Post them.

Are you shooting for "4 digits" at the rear wheels or at the crank?

When will you be doing some performance runs (e.g., 1/4 mile and/or 60-130)?

Thanks, and congratulations on completing your project. It has been a long time coming.

Regards,

Craig
