FabSpeed Sport or SuperSport.

To my knowledge the Sport (quiet) adds around 30-40 hp. The SuperSport (loud) adds and additional 5-8 hp on top of that. But to the point, is the SuperSport too loud for daily driving... 40-50 miles per day? I love the sound of the engine and usually drive with the radio off but will it rattle the fillings out of my teeth?

Any observations and suggestions are welcomed.

It depends how good your hearing is Britt...Have you served in any wars lately???

I would try to find someone who has one to determine if it's too loud and drones too much for your taste...you won't notice the additional hp with the loud, imho...

i think the sport sounds pretty good and is actually pretty loud. i have not heard the supersport. I do not think there is that substancial a power difference between the two. The supersport is a bit lighter however.

Fabspeed Sport is just right, IMO the Super Sport is too loud for everyday street use.

I got the Sport and then got the cones put in to be a bit more quiet -- just right to me. Fabspeed is great in working with buyers to make 'em happy.

I have the sport (quiet) and even it is a bit to loud on a long trip. There is significant resonance from about 2000 to 2800 rpm. Delightful at WOT. Nice burble with trailing throttle. I'd have a hard time with anything louder for daily use, but I'm easily annoyed by loud noises. The exhaust did seem to reduce turbo lag significantly compared to the stock exhaust in my X-50. YMMV. PS For few hundred extra bucks, the Fabspeed straight pipes will curl the hair on the back of your neck. You WILL hear the turbos spooling and unspooling with those. (You may notice some loss of hearing though. )

I have an X50 '04 coupe, I tried the Ruf it was VERY nice but not very aggressive sounding it did provide a noticable increase in throttle response. I also tried out the Fabspeed super sport it was much too loud for my taste with lots of interior buzzing. My suggestion would be to try the Fabspeed sport version.

I've got the supersport and I like it. It is loud but I am used to it and I really do like it. I have driven my car both short and long distances. My first real drive in the car, after picking it up from the shop, was a 10 hour trip to my home. Initially I thought it would be way too loud. But after the trip, I had a different view; the system works really well with my modifications and it is very entertaining. But, one caveat, I don't drive the car daily. When I drive it, I'm driving it for entertainment and I'm concentrating on the car and the drive. I don't drive it to work; I don't run errands in it; and I'm not concerned about talking on the cell phone when I'm in it. If I have my cell phone with me, it's off. So, if you drive your car dailly, the supersport may not be for you. That doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it; in my opinion, it is THE NO NONSENSE exhaust for the 996 turbo. It has, from a performance perspective, the least compromises. Notice I said from a performance perspective. It has compromises: It's loud, for one. Is it the best between the sport and other systems, I frankly could care less. For me and they way I use my car, it is the best.
