Sorry Steve, but I have NEVER seen a TT that got 30mpg....there's got to be something wrong with your on board computer.... Hell, I only got 28 mpg out of the 3.4 liter 996...and that was on cruise control setting it at 65 for a couple hundred miles.

This thread is never going to stay on topic with there being mention of 30 mpg.

Please send the ECU to Porsche so they can duplicate it. Then we'd be god to go vs CAFE.

My car isnt even close to 30 mpg, ever. Low 20's at best.

Either your car is lying to you or has the ability to shut down 5 cylinders and use 1 while cruising in 6th.

Speaking of OT.....is your sig supposed to be a "joke" or is that real talk? And if its real, do you like it or are you mocking it? Just curious....you know i love the GTR

Congrats again Steve on your ride...enjoy it each and every time you get in it. Haters...ehh, ignore them. I often find that haters will hate if you give them a chance. Kill them with kindness (be super cool about your hot car) and they usually stop - or like others have said - just make a joke out of their question....thats what i do when people in my town ask me about my Cayenne.....which for me, having my Blacked out Cayenne S in my little town is like having an Enzo in NYC!

Tell em it's a kit. 20K and 2 years of hard time in the garage... and ta-DA - SUPERvolkswagon. If they're dumb enough to ask, they're dumb enough to believe it.

A joke, just like the magazines that have tested them.

I live in S Cal...dont really have problems...most people are really nice. I also make sure to not be a a-hole either...I thank them ask about their car and compliment it even if its not so great...a bit of humility goes a long way..

30MPG, I had a flat tire in my C4S so had to drive 50MPH for around 100 miles. Averaged 31MPG

Tried the same thing in the TT, got around 27MPG over around 20 miles on the highway.

Keep on enjoying it man, i'll probably never get to see it like you promised but its all good :P

And I can totally relate to this one
"out of those 8 people, 7 of them have a "friend who has a xxx that will smoke the porsche"."

I just laugh, shrug it off and why my car rarely gets driven on the street anymore, it becomes a hassle when people try and race you non stop, and it DOES happen here way too much/often in NY where everyone is out of Fast and the Furious!
congrats on the turbo steve!
thats because ur such a nice guy martin! very humble and level headed.
