Getting to 600hp - questions
Hi All,
I have a 2002 Turbo 6sp non X-50 with the following mods: GIAC Flash, Remus Exhaust and Ceramic Coated Headers. 2 questions:
1) What's the easiest/cheapest way to get to the 590/600hp range?
2) What's the best way (ignoring cost) to get to this hp range while ensuring good drivability and longevity?
The GIAC flash cost in the neighborhood of $2K. Is this a throwaway or can the same program be used for higher hp applications. I know I get a credit if I upgrade to the K24 program.
Thanks in advance for the replies!

that's how I did it also. proven hybrid turbos and Protomotive programing.
this assumes you have diverters and probably boost hoses upgraded.
also a 5 bar FPR. consider GT2 IC's

Yep, K-24 or better turbos and programming should have you about there. I am running Evo's new GT-610 kit which uses GT-28 turbos, headers, Fabspeed exhaust and GIAC programming (keep you eyes pealed for the kit release) and we made well over 500 whp.

The amazing part is that all that is required to get you there can fit in the palm of your hands. 1 5 bar fpr, 2 16g compressor wheels and a flashed EPROM.

Hey FJ,
Agree with Tim except I know that Stephen can take care of the EPL package for you. Give him a call 913-310-9927 thanks
I DO NOT suggest a set of k24 turbos over this set up for its super laggy. No turbo will spool as fast as EPL's set up.

Hi FJ,
I just purchased an '04 996TT Cab that had already been dialed into 600hp by Stephen at ImagineAuto. Car is a hoot to drive. If you are close to him, I'd definitely give him a call. When I first found the car, I was concerned about the mods, but the more I read, the more excited I got. Now having driven the car, I don't know why anyone would want a stock TT!

Regardless the "tune" direction you go, I'd plan to also upgrade the DVs, wastegate springs, turbo hoses and the 5bar FPR for a total package tune (Make sure to coordinate this with your tuner). That combo of parts is gonna run you about $1200-1400, depending on who you get them from. I recommend getting the SAMCO hoses from AWE.
