Question on 15K service

Question on 15K service
I'm bringing my car in for its 15,000 miles service this week. I have done 3 oil changes myself (I keep receipts for parts) and have changed the air filter. The manual calls for a number of additional checks that the dealer does for the 15k service. What do they need to do so I maintain my warranty on the car?

I don't think you would lose your warranty if you didn't have the dealer do the inspections. As long as the car doesn't have a malfunction due to the lack of inspections and keep your oil changed. But, that wouldn't be wise because that's just plain old shabby. You could change your oil and filters and then have the dealer look it over and have the books stamped and logged in the dealer's computers and save a ton of money. I just did that myself on Friday and it only cost me $106.00 instead of the normal $280.00 my dealer charges.

The 15k at the dealer is very little on parts, mostly check car over, scan for codes, set tire pressures and charge the hell out of the customer.
I don't perform major and minor services, only major service every 15k, Mobil 1 0w/40 oil services every 7000 for my customers. For many people this equates into once a year. Major service includes spark plugs, Mobil 1 0w/40/filter, air filter (or clean and oil k&n) fuel filter, fuel treatment, cabin filter, compression test, coolant renew, brake fluid bleed and flush w/ ATE super blue racing brake fluid, washer fluid, check ps fluid, set tire pressures, inspect suspension and pads/rotors, scan for codes, check all bulbs, replace if neccesary, lube doors, deck lid and trunk lid, road test and then all the little "checks" you see on the dealer check list. Basically a very meaty 60k every year for a slightly better price than what they charge at the dealer.
