Anyone have a good way to decode a VIN #??

I tried searching on here, but didn't find anything.

I've found a nice 996tt for sale and I would like to decode the vin if possible.

Thanks,

Erik

I just wanted to be thorough and decode the vin and check model designation, build date and also if it referenced the X50 or if that would only be listed on the option list under the hood.

I hadn't yet gotten to the topic of pulling a carfax.
Do you have any good hookups for that??
