Evo Gt640 or Evo GT750

hi guys , i need your help if you had the choice between Evo GT640 or Evo Gt750 which one would perform better for 1/4 mile racing keep in mind the GT750 has a bigger turbo with 50-75 more hp i'll be using my car alot in drag strips + which one is more daily use ? any of you guys tested or installed one of the above upgrades from Evo .

More more and more is always better. Do the 750 man.... Ask Todd @ EVO but if you're going to be doing the drag racing stuff you're going to need some kind of clutch upgrade. I'm sure he'll hook you up..

I am doing the EVO GT750 package. The car should be done in a week or so and I'll be glad to give my opinions on it very soon.

Does the 750 package run on pump gas? Do they upgrade the rods in the engine?
I hope so.....

If the 750 is the same as the Stage 5 was, I would not do it... there is a lot changed in the car, and there were some problems in the development cars (ie, Buddy)... I would go for the 640, and then you can put racing gas in it and get 740 hp

Re: Evo Gt640 or Evo GT750

Have you considered Imagine's IAGT/GTR ?:

Stephen's an excellent resource.

Prubin-
That package requires race gas to hit those numbers. Likewise I would bet a stock 996TT could hit 500hp+ with a race gas program, so you may not be truly comparing apples to apples. I think there was a thread on this a couple weeks back, and it came out that the 600whp number was using race gas and it was closer to 540whp using premium pump gas.

i used to have the stage 5 upgrade from evo it was really fast , in that upgrade my car achieved a top speed of 345km/h but with alot of turbo lag and it wasnt reliable like the other mods i did from evo , especially the external wastegate , it sounded really loud but it used to break all the time , anyway let me go back to the main subject what about changing the gear ratio , i believe it will help me shave some fraction of a seconds with either one of the above setups , this is really a big project for me since my motor is at evo i only have this weak to set my mind what is the best setup so plz guys help me i want my car to run low 10s in the 1/4 i did 11.0 @ 131 in my stage 5 with 19 inch tires

IS the 750 package the same as the old 700 hp stage 5 package? Is it just a race gas program to get it to 750?

I was told this is a whole new deal. Todd told me the Stage V would have alot of lag. Especially at my altitude in Denver. I was going with the Stage IVGTR. After speaking with Todd about the new EVO GT 750 package he told me the lag issue is resolved. I decided to kick it up to the EVO GT 750. It is a 750 race gas program. The street program is 91 octane and 670hp, 94 octane and 700hp and 100 octane 750hp. Those are not rwhp numbers.

750 DIN HP is equal to just shy of 630 rwhp. I wonder how much boost is required?
