Who's going this year? There's three this year, but two of the three is really expensive. I found a newcomer that is only $1,500 going from NYC to Miami.

hm.. the price is very fair. dunno if i should go on one of these.. a few hours of spirited driving and cops are everywhere... 4 days of spirited driving and i may not have a car to come home with =D

 

I ehar these events end up being extremely abusive to the car and require full plasti armor lol. Still sounds like fun as hell!

Well, I got the car to enjoy it so this is awesome. It's no fun just leaving it in the garage collecting dust.

 

with all the monet they make from the videos they should be paying us to abuse or cars and rack up points on our license. but to each his own.

 

This is a timed event with a cash prize...is that even legal? Secondly, the lower priced rallies typically attract a much younger crowd with their rice rockets and I personally wouldn't wanna be on the same roads during a "timed event".

 

I agree with you somewhat, but $20,000+ for some of the events is not chump change. I'll see how this one goes, rice rockets are all over the place nowadays.

 

A little bit OT, but is the gumball coming back this year? IIRC, someone died in last years, and they were forced to cancel. IMO, these things sound like great fun, but the more popular they get, the more hassle it seems they will be to run, and thus to be in; with the increased media and police attention...

 

I think AKA Rally is a good one for the money; not extremely expensive ($3200 or so) and the turn out of cars is pretty good.
