Another M3 vs GT660 vid

What is the difference between HPF M3 Stage 1 and Stage 2 in hp? Was it the same M3 from the first vid?

I was gonna do the HPF kit to my M3 before deciding to go 996TT. They are pretty awesome kits.

Diff in Stage 1 and 2 is about 25-30hp on 110 and methanol. See here:

Nice vid.

carbonbmw is infamous around these parts
this is the same m3 in the first vid running the gt660 car. This time the m3 is running 110 octane and last time i think he said he was running pump.

The M3 is running a stock engine (at 11.5:1 compression ratio). On pump gas without methanol the M3 only makes 425rwhp. With pump and methanol it makes approximately 550rwhp. With race fuel it makes 600rwhp and with race fuel and methanol it makes 625rwhp.

Yes.. The factory engine is pretty stout. 624rwhp is safe and reliable on the factory engine. We've run the stock internals up to 724rwhp for testing, but all of the HPF stage 2 cars are driving around with 620-630rwhp.

I saw (2) of these cars on Saturday in Minneapolis (at Mpls Cars and Coffee)

One M3 coupe (Red)
One M3 convert (Black)

Both had the HorsepowerFreaks turbo kits and they said 630+ RWHP on Race gas.

I do have pics on my camera, I will post later.

Nice looking cars.

Marty

BMW decided to go with a steel block on the E46 cars. They got a lot flack for adding almost 200 lb to the stock car, but created an aftermarket nirvana very similar to the Supra following with a super stout block.

There a A LOT more E46 M3s running around than Supras too.
