Help! Gauge Ring Install Question...

I just installed some gauge rings and cant seem to finish the last (smallest/end) guage rings. I actually ended up scratching the surrounding trim .

The instructions say to start at the bottom and work your way up pushing the alum. gauge ring between the surrounding trim and the oem black gauge ring.

It just doesnt fit and scratched the surrounding trim.

Please if anyone has some tips they can give me I would really appreciate it!

Well, you might not like the answer, but I pulled the cluster and did them out of the car, this way it gave me lots of room to NOT scratch the surround, mine is carbon and that would have been a shame. No not use glue, clear silicon or good two sided tape.

Can you tell me how you removed the cluster?

I used two sided tape.

Thanks!

Do a search, I did do a DIY for this a while ago for someone else, its not difficult, but make sure you put a towel on the dash behind the cluster....if you have leather it will dent easy..

I had to bend mine slightly to fit perfectly. I finally got it to work great. I attached my rings with silicone. It is quite easy to remove if you take the rings off later. I used tape to hold it in place while the silicone dried overnight.

Need to bend it and sand the edges first. Use clear silicone and then blue tape while they dry. It took mine about a full day to dry.

I am having trouble understanding the issue. I used UHU Tac, the rings fit right on and have never come off...that was 4 years ago. Would never remove the cluster for this mod.
