I'd love to see a side-by-side dyno sheet of the k16/16g set-up vs. the k16/k24 hybrid set-up

Ask and you will receive:
Same Dyno, similar weather, different days:

Speed Gallery low clearance K16/K24 car with upgraded wastegates, headers, intake, exhaust & FVD Stage 4 software (he posts on this board as Turbohead) and he bought the setup used from John D (this is the setup that John D ran his 127mph traps with):

My car: K16/16g with a 5 bar FPR & EPL custom tune and NOTHING else (stock intake, exhaust, everything):

I of course would love to run my car back to back the same day on an independent dyno with a K16/K24 car (and then some street pulls), but so far none have volunteered.

Thanks for the lecture on what I can and can't post. EPL and Proto KKK/Mitsubishi hybrids are built at the same shop. Care to prove me wrong? We can have a conference call with the gentlemen who builds them tomorrow afternoon.

You are 100% right.

In the late 80s there were already many many tuners and builders doing KKK turbo hybrids for Porsche cars in Europe and the US. Many of the (current) online catalogue tuners (FVD etc) have had them since the early 90s.

I am surprised that some people think that this is ground-braking technology. In Diesel applications, this has been done for dozens of years, agreed that Garrett/Mitsu + KKK hybrids are more recent mixes and that seem to work well from what I read, this is great for the customers, as we have more choices!

As you know, the key is how to match the turbo to the engine/tune/application required by the customer and keep it within its best efficiency throughout the rev range.

I don't expect the K16/16G to make so much difference vs a K16/24 on a pbox, there will be different power delivery for sure, but performance will be close at same boost levels, the real question is where does each run on the efficiency curve above 1 bar, since this will be the difference between sustained performance or sprint performance.

It will be interesting to see the results.

I agree. I don't think it's ground breaking. It has been done for many years (Markski's buddy Bobby did one on a 996TT several years ago and it was done several years before that).
That there is no magic to it is exactly what I was trying to point out. To say one is better, Proto or EPL because of the name on the box doesn't make any sense because they most likely came from the same shop (only talking about the KKK/Mitsu brids here).
I don't think the K16/24 car posted above was running as well as it could. I think the real difference is that my car was custom tuned.

I gotta tell you...its all very confusing...I'm not the sharpest but then again I'm not stupid either...all these different setups...tunings...hybrids...everyone claiming its the newest greatest...would love to make a move to upgrade to some type of 600hp+ kit but I dont even know where to start...

I'm very much looking forward to seeing the results when you guys get around to this.

Are you going to try larger injectors on your car at some point?
